I’ve arrived in Italy!!!
After a long flight to London and an insanely quick layover, I flew into Milan with Julian.
Once we got our bags we called our hotel for night and took their shuttle to the property. It was a cute little agriturismo in Somma Lombardo, right by the airport.

It was right by a nature preserve so we took a little stroll in order to keep awake and fight the jet lag. It was a nice walk but the spiders in Italy are terrifying. They are big and have lots of patterns on them. Not at all like the daddy long legs I’m used to dealing with at home.
We had dinner at our hotel, which uses ingredients from their farm as much as possible. They said the gnocchi was fresh so I had that with tomato sauce. The gnocchi was super pillowy and just the perfect texture. The tomato sauce was yummy, but nothing exceptional.

The best thing was that they gave us each complementary eggplant parmesan which was absolutely amazing. It was especially good when you ate it with bread.
The next day Julian and I got up and joined the school at the airport to start our opening tour.
